What are the red flags in an online listing?

Four, and price is only the first of them.

1. A complete kit under AED 150. Gloves, wraps, a bag and hand pads for that money means single density foam that packs flat inside a month. The gloves are usually the giveaway.
2. No weight listed. A glove sold without an ounce figure is being sold to people who do not know to ask.

4. Photographs with no product shots. Lifestyle images only, and no picture of the palm, cuff or knuckle, usually means the seller has never held the item.

The straightforward test is whether a listing tells you the weight, the material and the closure. A seller who will not state those three has told you something.

Domestic or international shipping?

Domestic, almost always, and not only for speed.

How do you check fit without trying it on?

Try gloves over the wraps you actually use, not over a bare hand, because that is how they will be worn. The glove should be snug with your fingers reaching the end of the compartment but not pressed into it, and the cuff should hold your wrist straight when you make a fist.

For headgear, it should sit level without pressing on the temples, and it should not shift when you shake your head hard. If it moves, it is too big, whatever the label says.
